This is my first time trying out the brand Then I Met You, I decided to look into their cleansers and luckily stumbled upon the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm. The design of this cleansing balm was what drove me to click on the product info and I will gladly tell you all about it. Here is my Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm review.
Ocean and Sand
The design is one of my favorites, I usually don’t go for colors. I am more of a monochrome type of girl. But I can’t stop staring at the colors of this product.
The cleansing balm comes in a cream/ small jar container. It’s pastel-blue and fades into a mango-yellow shade, which is super cute in my honest opinion.
The design truly reminds me of the beach- ocean, and sand mixed together. Just a beautiful combination of color. It comes with a spatula that is also pastel-blue, very neat. The container has a cute pastel-blue twist-cap.
Rich Mango Colored Wax
When you twist the cap off, you are instantly met with a delicious mango-yellow balm. The color alone makes me want to eat it. The texture of the balm is very rich and creamy, almost like a wax-like consistency. Very smooth and aesthetically pleasing to the sight and touch.
Beautiful Natural Scent
The balm smells great, it has no overwhelming smell such as chemicals or fragrance. I quite enjoy the scent this product provides, it feels natural, which I like. A real divine smelling balm.
Melts Easily and Gets the Job Done
I was very excited to apply this cleansing balm to my face and I was not disappointed. Since it comes with a spatula, it was so much easier to get the balm out of the container.
One awesome thing I noticed is that it quite literally melts in your hands, which is very satisfying. Your fingers do a great job at warming up the product, making it easier to massage it onto your skin.
Then I splashed a little bit of water on my hands and continued. Once the water hits, the balm starts foaming up. The whole process feels very soothing and it removed all my makeup perfectly. Washing it off was fast and effortless as well.
Moisturized and Smooth Finish
After cleansing my face with this cleansing balm, I noticed my skin is very soft and somehow still moisturized, I feel no dryness. This product does not dry out my skin at all, which is something that usually happens to me after cleansing.
I love the way my skin feels after using this balm. It did say to follow up with a water-based cleanser so I just used one of my other cleansers for that.
Easily-Irritated Skin Approved
There was absolutely no irritation or redness on my face. I usually always get a little red after washing my face, no matter what product I use. This doesn’t seem to happen with this balm.
This is my first time using an oil-based cleanser and I am shocked. I guess this is what I should have been using all these years, finally a cleanser that doesn’t break me out or dry out my skin.
New Favorite
This is easily one of the best makeup removers I have ever used, not to mention the best cleanser too. This cleansing balm ticked all the boxes that were needed for me. It worked perfectly for my sensitive skin and was gentle enough to not cause any irritation.
It melts all the dirt off your face and does that without any effort, super quick and easy. It’s absolutely wonderful for double cleansing and is a must-buy for makeup wearers. Your skin will be healthy and happy after you start using this product.

- Gently massage the product in circular motions
- Add a splash of lukewarm water to make it foam
- Rinse the product off with water
- Finish by cleansing your face with a water-based cleanser to complete the double cleanse ritual
